One of the top-ranked scholastic players in the country, Damian shared his expertise and passion with the club’s aspiring young chess players, making for an unforgettable afternoon of learning and competition.
Learning from a Champion
Damian Krotov brings an extraordinary international pedigree to the board. His impressive career includes winning the 2018 Russian U13 Youth Championship and the 2020 U.S. K-7 National Championship. Currently a high school senior, Damian is ranked among the top 5 players in Georgia for his grade and holds the prestigious National Master title, placing him in the top 1% of all chess players in the United States.
During the lecture, Damian broke down complex grandmaster-level games into digestible tactical lessons. Drawing from over a decade of competitive experience, he taught students how to evaluate positions critically and think several moves ahead. The students remained captivated throughout the session, eager to learn the secrets behind his success.
