The First Step team performs a show at the Peachtree Corners Adult Daycare every month, when the center celebrates the birthdays of its residents at the end of the month. Each month, we find performers who are interested in putting on an act for our show, and we curate these acts into a program that usually lasts 1-2 hours. We usually have around 10-15 performers, many of which are elementary/middle/high schoolers, but the elderly sometimes perform as well.
These acts include (but are not limited to) playing an instrument, singing, dancing, etc. We usually play to a crowd of about 50-60 elderly people.
This project has been running for several years, albeit under different leaders. This year was especially fortunate to us, as our signup list was almost always full, and we held a show all twelve months of the year. We are consistently receiving new interested performers every month or two, and overall we have been very busy.
